John Deere Model 110 Lawn and Garden Tractor

The Model 110 is the first 2 wheel drive Lawn & Garden Tractor, created in a brave styling, with ease and comfort in operating. The very first production 110 riding lawn mower was created on June 27, 1963, in the city of Horicon, the state of Wisconsin, United States of America. In the same year, 1963 from June to August 1000 copies John Deere Riding Mowers of this successful model were created and released.

The 110 is the first mower in the industry to receive a safety system including a triple ignition safety system. Before starting the engine, it was imperative that the ignition key was used, the gear lever was moved to neutral and the mower had to be switched off.

JD110 had a four-stroke petrol-fueled Cast Iron K-161 Kohler engine with 7 horsepower gave the riding mower good of power. It is similar to larger tractors John Deere, has many of the same points and full range of implements and attachments. Ergonomically designed, adjustable rear-tread, ground-speed control plus unique Variable Speed Drive provided for high-speed mowing and super low end tilling.

A year later, in 1964, the JD110 model received a Kohler K181S engine with an output of 8-hp. The fiberglass frame was replaced by a steel frame. In 1965, the transmission was changed from 3-speed to 4-speed, and in 1966, a hydraulic manual elevator was offered as the only option from the manufacturer.

The second generation of 110 mowers, produced from 1968 to 1974, received even more changes in the structure. In 1968, the individual round wings were replaced by a one-piece design of the wing block, which was attached to the frame through rubber couplings. In 1972, more significant changes occurred, with a larger and heavier frame began to produce mowers with two types of engines, with an output of 8-horsepower Kohler K181S and 10-horsepower Kohler K241S. In 1973, the hydraulic elevator became an option. 110H tractors were equipped with hydraulic lifting systems.

The John Deere model 110 Lawn & Garden Tractor continued in the line from 1963 to 1967 for 11 years and was ready in 2 versions: the regular 110 with a conventional transmission with three speeds forward, and one reverse speed; and a 110 Deluxe, which highlighted particular ground speed control.
